New Schedule for MGP 2017 Announced

The Manx Motor Cycle Club have announced some changes to the schedule for 2017. Below is a letter sent by the organisers to all riders explaining the changes.

 

Dear Rider

Looking ahead to the 2017 Manx Grand Prix races the Manx Motor Cycle Club wishes to announce its decision to amalgamate the two races previously run concurrently known as the Supertwin and Lightweight races.  Also the former classes of Newcomer Classes B and C will be amalgamated to form one class, Class B.  The Senior and Junior MGP Races and Newcomers A class will remain unchanged. 

Details of the above changes are as follows:

LIGHTWEIGHT MANX GRAND PRIX RACE

For 2017 there will be one race which will be called the Manx Grand Prix Lightweight Race and the following machines will be eligible to enter:
201cc – 450cc 2 stroke 2 cylinder
Up to 650cc     4 stroke 2 cylinder
Up to 125cc    2 stroke single cylinder, 6 gears maximum
215 – 400cc     4 stroke 4 cylinder. Rebores to a maximum increase of +1.00mm above the standard bore
size are permitted
Up to 750cc     4 stroke single cylinder

For riders with machines in the group of categories (c) (d) and (e) above the following will apply :
a) The first three finishers in the group to finish will receive replicas.
b) The rider setting the fastest lap in the group will receive an award.
c) The best placed newcomer in the group will receive an award.

NEWCOMERS CLASS B

For 2017 the former Newcomer Classes B and C will be known as Newcomer Class B and the following machines will be eligible to enter:
201cc – 450cc    2 stroke 2 cylinder
Up to 650cc        4 stroke 2 cylinder
Up to 125 cc       2 stroke single cylinder, 6 gears maximum
251cc – 400cc    4 stroke 4 cylinder. Rebores to a maximum increase of +1.00mm above the standard bore
size are permitted
Up to 750cc        4 stroke single cylinder

The 2017 Supplementary Regulations for the event will be available from the end of February 2017 and you will receive an email informing you that you may go to the MGP official website – www.manxgrandprix.org – to download the regulations and enter the 2017 Manx Grand Prix via a link to the online entry system.
